Akwatia Zongo Chiefs; Imams and people collaborate to cut sod for the construction of 6 unit classrooms block and library
The Zongo Chiefs led by Sarki Alhaji Rabiu Issaka Adams and Deputy Chief Imam Mallam Sulley together with the MP for Akwatia constituency and former MP with the entire community has cut sod for the construction of a 2 storey 6 unit classroom block and a library to support education.
The sod cutting and fund raising ceremony which took place Sunday 19th September, 2021 at Akwatia Zongo was a remarkable one.
Dignitaries present we’re the member of Parliament for Akwatia constituency Hon Henry Boakye Yiadom, former deputy minister for employment and labour relations Lawyer Baba Jamal, Alhaji Danladi of Canada, Zongo Chiefs and some well meaning people in the community.
The Sariki Alhaji Rabiu addressing the public indicates that, unity they say is strength and for that matter members of the community should unit as one to fast track development in the Zongo’s and it’s environs.
Speaking to Papa Story TV in an interview, the MP for Akwatia constituency Hon Henry Boakye Yiadom popularly known as Okoyo stated that, education is his first priority and will always be available to support fully anything concern education in the district.
Meanwhile, he donated about 50 bags of cement and a 2 trips of sand to support the project.
The former deputy minister for employment and labour relations Lawyer Baba Jamal also revealed that, he will use his lobbying skills to gain support and funding for the ongoing project in no time. He also donated about 50 bags of cement to uphold the project.
Members of the Zongo community in abroad also promised to fully support the ongoing construction of the classroom block.
