Cristiano Ronaldo posed for a photo with his latest Player of the Month award, ahead of training with his Manchester United team-mates on Friday, and later posted on social media to express his gratitude for the accolade.
The Reds are focusing on Saturday’s teatime clash at Brighton & Hove Albion but our leading goalscorer collected yet another trophy before the session, which he won for his exploits in April.
CR7 scored a superb hat-trick against Norwich City and also found the net against Champions League hopefuls Arsenal and Chelsea.
Ronaldo’s exploits have also ensured he is in the running for the overall Premier League prize for last month, alongside Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus, Liverpool playmaker Thiago Alcantara, Tottenham hot-shot Son Heung-min, Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, Newcastle United new boy Bruno Guimaraes and Nathan Collins of Burnley.
Writing on Instagram on Friday night, ahead of the weekend action, Ronaldo said: “Thanks to all the supporters who voted for me and to all my team-mates who helped me achieve this award once again.
“I’m always proud to represent this amazing club and it’s very gratifying to be acknowledged by the Man United community.”
The Portuguese forward has been named United’s Player of the Month award four times since his sensational return to Old Trafford at the start of the season.
He came out on top of our fan vote in September, October, March and now April.
Congratulations again, Cristiano!
