Manchester United will play a pre-season friendly against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in what will be Erik ten Hag’s first match at Old Trafford.
The match, to be held on Sunday 31 July, with kick-off at 16:00 BST, will provide a final warm-up for Ten Hag’s squad before the start of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
Coming a day after the first team take on Atletico Madrid in Oslo, the home match against Rayo Vallecano will ensure that Ten Hag is able to provide game-time to his whole squad in the crucial final week of pre-season.

Manchester United’s football director, John Murtough, comments: “Pre-season is all about preparation and this is a great opportunity for those squad members who may not have featured in some of our earlier Tour and pre-season matches to get valuable minutes on the pitch – and where better to do this than Old Trafford?
“This will be the new manager’s first match at Old Trafford, and I am sure the fans will provide him with a warm welcome.”
Manchester United’s chief operating officer, Collette Roche, comments: “We are delighted to be able to offer fans the opportunity to share in the experience of Erik Ten Hag’s first match in the dugout at Old Trafford.
“As well as the chance to see some of the club’s up-and-coming stars, fans purchasing tickets for this match will also be contributing towards a fantastic cause, with the club donating 10 percent of profits from the game to Manchester United Foundation and its work within the community.”
